Barely there sandals

Delivered to us this season by a designer cast list including Attico, The Row, Celine, Saint Laurent, Tibi and Alexander Wang, dainty sandals are the easiest way to add a sprinkling of sex appeal to any outfit. These effortless slip-on-and-gos have graced the feet of every serious runway show-goer from Pernille Teisbaek and Blanca Miró Scrimieri to Giorgia Tordini and Vanessa Hong – counterbalance their innate femininity by teaming them with avant-garde shapes or monochromatic suiting.

Saddlebags

Fashion has been looking to the Wild West as inspiration for several seasons now and this is one of the more practical results, with some seriously good options from Loewe, Marni, Chloé and Calvin Klein. It’s the perfect day-to-day option: big enough to carry all of your essentials, not so big that you feel laden down. Switch up the boho connotations of the piece à la fashion editor Donna Wallace by wearing the strap short over an oversized tailored blazer.

Baroque pearls

Thanks to the dramatic chandelier shapes at Simone Rocha and the oversized and unusual designs at Mizuki, Hirotaka and Alighieri, pearls have lost their fussy, old-fashioned overtones and are now considered a modern instant update. Go for the extremes, oversized or tiny, but always look for the most natural shape. Choose a pair of oversized earrings like Pandora Sykes and Erika Boldrin and wear your hair swept back to show them off.
