Olivia Culpo’s AM/PM routine

If there’s one thing we want to know from the former Miss Universe, it’s her beauty routine. Read on to discover US model OLIVIA CULPO’s skincare secrets

Beauty

IN THE MORNING

I don’t always wash my face in the morning…

…as I like letting my natural oils do their thing, and I think face wash can make the skin quite dry. Instead, I always apply a super-hydrating moisturizer and drink a ton of water as soon as I wake up.

The one thing I learnt from being Miss Universe…

…was the value of staying true to yourself [Olivia won Miss Universe in 2012]. I got to travel the world, see so many cultures and meet people with such different perspectives to my own. It was eye-opening.

I really believe in the power of healthy eating…

…and I think it’s very important to get my greens in every day. I pick up fruit and vegetables from the farmers’ market on the weekends to juice throughout the week – it makes you feel so good, and using fresh ingredients makes all the difference. I also take supplements that boost my gut health and complexion.

My go-to glam team in LA…

…includes Liz Castellanos for makeup and Justine Marjan for hair. Luckily, my other favorites like Jen Atkin (I swear by her Ouai Volumizing Hair Spray), Dr. Barbara Sturm and Nurse Jamie all have their own product lines, so I can continue a routine after seeing them for a treatment.

My secret to walking the red carpet…

…is practicing my pose in my outfit, so I know exactly how the clothing falls and where I want it to fall properly. This is a great tip if you’re out taking pictures, too.

IN THE EVENING

The thing I never go without on a shoot…

…is body makeup – not only does it even out the skin and make it look airbrushed, but it also gives an amazing glow and shine. I also make sure my hair is protected with a heat-protectant spray before any styling with hot tools.

I use an app to work out wherever I am…

…Kayla Itsines’ workout app Sweat really kicks my ass. It’s so easy to do at home as you don’t need much equipment.

When I travel…

…I double up my water intake by drinking lots and hydrate my skin topically. Flying is so dehydrating for the skin, so I always do a hydrating mask after landing. I also use SK-II Facial Treatment Essence and Caudalie Beauty Elixir during the flight to bring a little glow to the skin.

I prep my skin for sleep…

…by making sure it’s super-hydrated. I start by removing every trace of makeup, which is the most important thing for healthy skin, then wash my face and apply either the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask or a really hydrating one, which I leave on overnight for a more intensive treatment. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Eye Cream and Face Cream to moisturize, and I also moisturize the rest of my body, because your skincare shouldn’t stop at your face.

Meditation helps to center me…

…and slow everything down – it totally relaxes me and helps me get eight hours of sleep. I also write in my journal a lot because that helps me organize all of my thoughts from the day.
