The cult buy: Slouched boots

The fashion landscape has been dominated by barely there sandals, stacked sneakers and modern mules of late, but for FW18 our feet are being treated to a dose of high-octane ’80s glamour by way of the slouched ankle boot. Design-wise, it comes in many guises, from Isabel Marant’s cone-heeled, patent styles to Alexandre Vauthier’s crystal-embellished creations. But some details are non-negotiable: they mustn’t go higher than mid-calf, and the heels have to be vertiginous, no excuses. These boots were made for doing way more than walking.
