Elsa Hosk’s Stockholm
She’s spent much of her life jet-setting around the world since being signed at the age of 13, but there’s still no place like Stockholm for Swedish model ELSA HOSK. The Victoria Secret’s Angel shares her insider’s guide to the city that raised her
For a chic escape
“Ett Hem in Lärkstaden (or Lark City) is the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in and an endless source of inspiration for me. It’s an amazing redbrick townhouse, with stylish rooms, a library, and even a glasshouse. If only all hotels were like it…”
For some Scandi style
“Head to Norrmalmstorg square to check out Rodebjer, a really cool Swedish brand. Or, if you find yourself further south in Södermalm, Nitty Gritty is great for a mix of Swedish and international designers like Little Liffner and Helmut Lang. Södermalm island also has really good vintage shops such as Lisa Larsson, Judits and Myrorna.”
For a stylish bite
“Riche is a classic Stockholm institution – it’s great for brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks, and it’s right in the center of town, so it’s the perfect place to meet up with friends. My other favorite place for dinner is Tranan in Kungsholmen, it’s a little Stockholm gem. It’s famous for its fried herring with mashed potatoes, but I always order the meatballs – they aren’t on the menu, but they are the absolute best. I also love Nytorget for coffee, people watching and catching up with friends.”
For some fresh Swedish air
“The city has plenty of amazing places where you can enjoy the sun in summer, but Stockholm archipelago, or the cliffs around the city like Fredhäll in Kristinebergin are the best places for a quieter dip and some sunbathing. Rolandshovsparken is also great for walking – you can start there and walk along the water to the beautiful City Hall.”
Where to unwind
“Nothing beats an afternoon at a spa, and Sturebadet is a beautiful one right in the center of Östermalm. It has a 29-degree pool, amazing treatments and gym classes. I also really like the Nordic spa at the Grand Hotel, which is great for a classic Swedish massage.”
