We’re long-time fans of La Mer’s The Moisturizing Soft Cream and the plumping effect it has on skin. And the world’s most famous face cream has been reimagined with sustainability in mind with its new La Mer Blue Heart Crème. For every social post in June containing the hashtags #LaMerBlueHeart and #LaMerDonation, the brand will donate to the La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund, which works to support protected areas of water around the world with charitable donations, local marine beautification projects and awareness-raising initiatives. It’s beauty with benefits. Danielle Fox
The sustainable game-changer
Very occasionally, a beauty brand comes along that re-writes all the rules. Step up, One Ocean Beauty. Natural skincare (laden with marine actives and peptides that really work) and an impeccable sustainability record are at the heart of this company. It has even gone above and beyond its environmental responsibilities with a $250,000 donation to Oceana – a global organization working with governments to effect policy changes and safeguard the oceans. Plus, the packaging is entirely recyclable and the product itself is also sustainably produced. Each item in the collection is big on hydration and calms overwrought skin. We love Eye Revival Marine Cream and Replenishing Deep Sea Moisturizer because they layer beautifully under makeup. Suzanne Scott
The lipstick everyone’s talking about
It’s been impossible to ignore the disruptive ad campaign for Gucci’s 58-strong lipstick collection – picture-perfect smiles have been eschewed for imperfect and all-the-more-intriguing grins. And aside from the arresting imagery, the lipsticks, which come in three textures (satin, balm and voile) are exquisite. Expect everything from barely-there nudes for a pared-back look to punchy reds for making a statement. DF
The sleep-inspired skincare range
Key skin renewal takes place while you sleep, so if you’re awake and ceiling-staring, your skin doesn’t get the chance to repair. Bynacht’s range combines sleep-inducing natural balms with high-tech overnight skincare to use on the face. The heady Perfect Nacht Sleeping Balm is now a constant on my bedside table and in my suitcase – massaged into the chest and dabbed under the nose, it is brilliant at balancing repeated long-haul jet-lag. The Clean Sheets Cleansing Gel (with exfoliating lactic acid) is also a standout, especially on post-flight or city skin. Newby Hands
The breakout re-balancer
Finally, after five years of global success with the cult Active Botanical Serum, Vintner’s Daughter has a new skin treat to add to our routines. Billed as being ‘multi-correctional’, it uses cold-pressed extraction (of dandelion, alfalfa and nettle) and fermentation (hence its rather pungent smell) to create its pre- and probiotic attributes. And it works; after weeks of trying anything and everything to heal an angry rash of red spots (from nearly a month spent in-flight), the Active Treatment Essence cleared and calmed it in just two days. It’s now a regular in my daily routine. NH
The ultimate summer kit
As welcome as they are, hotter temperatures mean you need products that work extra hard to deep-treat, protect, soothe and repair. So, what could be easier than having all you need for the summer season edited down into one sleek JET-A-PORTER Beach Escape Beauty Kit. With antioxidant-rich repairing and hydrating serums, hair protection plus nourishing hair oil (don’t forget that sun causes damage to hair as well as skin), a pretty cheek and lip tint, and a go-everywhere energizing face spritz (great for use in-flight or before reapplying sun screen), plus refreshing micellar cleansing pads, there’s something here to take care of your every beauty need. All you have to do is relax and enjoy the summer. NH
