We are huge fans of Chloé creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi here at PORTER – her modern update on bohemia magically traverses city and beach dress codes. One of the standout pieces in the French maison’s SS20 show was this white floaty gown with a ruched bodice, which balances romanticism and sophistication perfectly. Wear it solo (depending on the climate) or layer it underneath a blazer and barely-there sandals for a smart/casual office look. If you’re meandering around cobbled streets on a sun-drenched city break, a leather jacket or belted trench is its perfect partner.
Roland Mouret’s sage-green pleated pants in a fusion of wool and silk are another versatile staple that will work for myriad occasions: tuck in a silk blouse for chic 9-5 style or wear it with a cropped tee on vacation. Alternatively, take your cues from the brand’s runway show and style them with a sequin top and sandals for a look that will take you from beachside to bar in no time at all.
For a bag that will hold all your essentials, and ticks both workwear and ‘away wardrobe’ boxes, try Louise Et Cie’s sculptural mock-croc design with its eye-catching angular handle. As for footwear, Isabel Marant’s snake-effect ankle boots will give low-key ensembles an edge. Jewelry is one of the lightest but most transformative things you’ll take away with you, so experiment by packing a mix of statement jewels by the likes of Chan Luu and Pacharee to wear individually or layered up for more impact.
