It's sneakers like New Balance's '991' design that we have to thank for the 'Dad shoe' trend - released in 1982, they're still loved for their sporty paneled uppers and cushioned soles. This pair has been made in the UK to celebrate 40 years of manufacturing in Flimby, Cumbria, from smooth suede, mesh and faux leather in a colorway that's reversed from the original 'GL' edition. The style name is embroidered onto the tongues and heel tabs.
