How To Master Chic Ski Style, According To 4 Tastemakers
Ever wondered what fashion insiders pack for a few days on the slopes? Read on to find out…
Amy Julliette Lefévre, model and entrepreneur
My ski style is… “Clean, chic and timeless. [I reach for] sleek silhouettes, neutral tones and pieces that feel polished without trying too hard.”
My favorite ski brands are… “Perfect Moment for their iconic silhouettes, Goldbergh for structure and polish, and Moncler Grenoble for pieces that feel equal parts technical and luxurious.”
My style advice for first-time skiers is… “Start with great layers and don’t overcomplicate it. Prioritize warmth, comfort and a simple color palette. When in doubt, let your outerwear be the hero.”
My ski looks are inspired by… “Classic French alpine elegance – a little ’70s-vintage glamour mixed with modern minimalism.”
My favourite ski destination is… “Aspen! It’s beautiful, stylish and has the perfect mix of great skiing and great energy.”
My go-to après-ski outfit is… “Effortless but elevated. A cozy turtleneck or jumpsuit, an oversized shearling coat and a chic pair of sunglasses.”
One of my most memorable ski trips was… “A brand getaway with an amazing group of stylish women. We spent the days on the slopes and the nights enjoying champagne-filled après-ski that felt equal parts cozy and glamorous. It was truly unforgettable.”

My style advice for first-time skiers is… “Keep it simple when choosing your ensemble. Whether [it’s] a one-piece, a coat or snow pants, simplicity is key. Also, what’s your favorite color to wear? Wear that. Make sure the clothing fits you and that you can be comfortable for a days’ worth of activity.”
The technical pieces I swear by are… “Thermal long-sleeve tops and bottoms, the thickest socks ever and one-piece ski suits.”
My ski looks are inspired by… “My imagination of what a Bond woman would be wearing, Slim Aarons’ photographs of women skiing and Princess Diana.”
My go-to après-ski outfit is… “A stunning knit, chic scarf, my snow pants or leggings and cozy boots. I might wear a head scarf and some sunnies.”
My favorite ski destination is… “Val d’Isère in France.”
My favorite ski brands are… “Brunello Cucinelli, Perfect Moment, Aztech Mountain and Khaite [for sweaters].”
Jane Gottschalk, founder of Perfect Moment
One of my most memorable ski trips is… “The first time my husband and I skied with all five of our kids together, when our youngest was old enough to join us. The moment was short-lived, as they soon left me behind and I haven’t been able to keep up since.”
My ski looks are inspired by… “The glamour of the ’60s. Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot and Jackie O with [Gianni] Agnelli and Roger Moore on a terrace overlooking Gstaad or St. Moritz. [They looked] effortlessly chic with head scarves, dark glasses and champagne in hand… owning the moment.”
My style advice for first-time skiers is… “Always invest in good quality base layers and don’t be afraid to double up. If your core is warm, the whole experience will be more enjoyable. Confidence on the mountain often starts with what you are wearing.”
I love the ease and lightweight feel of an all-in-one ski suit… “I wear the Perfect Moment ‘JG’ [ski suit] with our cashmere-blend base layers, which keep you warm while ensuring a slimline look and feel. [The ski suit is] a classic style and moves, functions and is also lightweight. Pair it with the ‘Moment’ jacket for an extra layer on colder days or when skiing at higher altitudes.”
My go-to après-ski outfit is all about… “Instant comfort. That’s why we designed the merino wool one-piece – an Instagram favourite. [I’ll change] from a technical ski suit to a soft, wool jumpsuit (or our two-piece ‘Aaron’ knit set) for a late lunch or a movie by the fire, which can then be layered with a coat and boots for a walk into town.”
[At Perfect Moment], we inherited a beautiful piece of skiwear history that needed a voice… “The inspiration was to revive the glamour and retro energy that once defined the sport. Looking ahead, I hope the brand continues to evolve with our community while staying true to its performance heartbeat and distinctive DNA.”

My ski style is always guided by… “TPO (time, place, occasion) – choosing pieces that are functional for the mountain while still maintaining a polished, stylish look. Performance comes first, but I never forget the fashion element.”
My style advice for first-time skiers is… “Avoid outfits that are overly flashy or expensive just for show – nothing looks worse than someone who’s all dressed up but can’t actually ski. At the same time, don’t under invest and wear regular clothing. Beginners fall often, so waterproof and functional materials are a must. A proper ski jacket, insulated pants and good gloves are essential.”
My go-to après-ski outfit is… “Something cozy and relaxed like a loose cashmere hoodie or loungewear set paired with a faux-fur coat to give it a touch of elegance.”
I love skiing in the Alps… “We usually go in February during my kids’ school break. The sun is bright, the altitude keeps the snow in great condition and there’s this beautiful contrast of enjoying ‘warm’ skiing under clear skies. It’s also much more affordable than major US resorts in Colorado or Utah, so we often return to the Alps.”
My essential ski accessories are… “A faux-fur trim on the hood of my ski jacket, a warm beanie and good ski goggles.”
My favorite ski brands are… “Bogner and Moncler. Their pieces are clean, timeless and not overly trendy or youthful. They strike the perfect balance between performance and sophistication. You can also wear their styles off the slopes, which makes them very practical.”
My ski style icon is… “Victoria Beckham. She embodies that sporty yet subtly sexy aesthetic that I love – clean, refined lines with a confident edge.”
