Straight-leg jeans rarely go out of style, but thanks to their resurgence on the runways in recent seasons, you’re about to fall in love with them all over again. A firm favorite of off-duty models and industry tastemakers, this trusty denim silhouette is understated and endlessly versatile. From tailored vests and loafers to simple cotton tees and sneakers, there’s no look they can’t elevate. Our top tips? Opt for a close fit around your waist and thighs to ensure the perfect slim silhouette on the leg – if you go too loose at the top, you’ll end up with a baggier boyfriend shape. As for hems, fashion’s love of the ’90s is still going strong, so choose styles with ankle-grazing or full-length cuffs.

It is with good reason that straight-cut blue denim is a perennial classic – it promises maximum style mileage and can stand up to years’ worth of wear. Set to be your new favorites, Toteme’s indigo jeans are made from 100% organic cotton and have a low-rise shape. Complement their true-blue finish with a crisp white shirt and gold hoops. Elsewhere, Khaite’s ‘Callum’ jeans come in a light-blue wash that is evocative of styles worn by supermodels Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Kate Moss throughout the ’90s. Channel the brand’s signature cool-girl style by pairing yours with a classic white tee and mesh ballet flats.

Set to be your new favorites, Citizens of Humanity’s ‘Palma’ jeans from our NET SUSTAIN edit come in a classic high-rise shape and have frayed hems for a cool, distressed look. Elevate them for evening drinks with a sleek bodysuit and low-heeled mules. Alternatively, try Bottega Veneta’s jeans, which are appliquéd with the label’s signature intrecciato leather patch and have turned-up cuffs.

Pristine white denim works year-round but feels especially crisp for summer. Another of our NET SUSTAIN picks and made using lower-impact materials, LA-based Frame’s 'The Hang' jeans come in a neatly tailored shape complete with a mid-rise waist and cropped cuffs. Wear them to summer parties and events with a colorful top, thong sandals and a chainmail bag.
