Collar necklaces: Alexandra Huxtable, senior fine jewelry buyer

“I love how many ways there are to style a collar necklace, especially for evening. Sometimes it’s great to pile them on, and at other times, less is more. When I’m showing a lot of skin with a strapless dress, for example, I like to wear a statement collar. I love simple, yet bold designs from Tabayer and Sophie Bille Brahe – and nothing else. For an alternative, slightly more laidback party look, I would wear a big, fluffy jumper with my ultimate wish-list pieces for the season from Juju Vera (I’m such a major fan of Juju’s work). As this outfit is more casual, it’s a great moment to have more fun and let the jewelry shine by layering one of the collars with the brand’s ‘Petra’ pendant and a pair of showstopping earrings from NET-A-PORTER’s exclusive collection.”

Everyday diamonds: Gillian Brett, head of fashion content

“I’m a firm believer that diamonds should be worn every day and not saved for special occasions only – obviously, within reason. I love dainty diamonds, such as those by Anita Ko, Persée and By Pariah – I’ve been keenly eyeing up the latter’s trio of 14-karat gold, morganite and diamond rings – to add a subtle sparkle to my office and weekend looks. Of course, with the festive season upon us, I’ve been filling my NET-A-PORTER wish list with some more extravagant pieces, too, such as Lucy Delius’s signature 14-karat gold ‘T-Bar’ pendant – it will instantly turn a casual day look into something party-appropriate.”

Making a statement: Viktoria Tomasevic, senior shopping editor

“I usually gravitate toward simple, everyday jewelry but when it comes to dressing up, I happily let my inner magpie shine. Think bold cuffs, sculptural statement earrings and all things eye-catching. This year, I have my eye on Juju Vera’s artful necklaces and By Pariah’s sleek triple hoops – they add just the right amount of wow factor without feeling overdone.”

Dazzling gemstones: Emily Johnston, fine jewelry buyer

“Theres no better time to incorporate gemstones into my jewelry looks than for party season. They help brighten up any outfit and look effortless worn day to night. Lucy Delius’s chain necklace is already an essential, but attaching the ruby-embellished T-bar adds a fun twist to an everyday piece. Meanwhile, Ananya’s ‘Chakra’ bracelet is the perfect addition to any wrist stack, with the brand offering endless colour combinations. The lapis and blue sapphire iteration is a personal favorite and looks great stacked with other designs from the brand.”

Chain necklaces: Millie Parry, junior shopping editor

“Layering chain necklaces is my favorite way to elevate outfits for an event. I’d choose a medallion pendant by Foundrae as the focal point, pairing it with a chain from David Yurman and a finer piece to create a balanced contrast. Recently, I've been enjoying mixing metals – it’s such a great way to expand styling options and create combinations that complement every party look. Silver chains from Sophie Buhai and mixed-metal pieces from Marla Aaron are great options.”

Tonal jewels: Colleen Ross, fashion content editor

Lately, I’ve been drawn to the trend for tonal metals and gems, especially those that feel vintage. Top of my wish list is Lucy Delius’s ‘Chubby’ earrings. They’re encrusted with cognac diamonds that complement the warmth of the 14-karat gold beautifully, while the rhodium setting only enhances their sparkle. I love the subtlety of David Yurman’s ‘Petite Pavé’ necklace and Pomellato’s ‘Sabbi’ studs, too.”
