“For the past few seasons, designers have put skirts at the forefront of collections. Whether you prefer long or short hemlines, solid colors or eye-catching prints, there’s a style for every woman. At the SS25 shows, we saw a lot of statement skirts in embossed and intrecciato leather from the likes of Gucci and Bottega Veneta, fringed and finely knitted maxis at Gabriela Hearst, Proenza Schouler and Alaïa along with feminine styles in soft silk, lace and suede at Altuzarra, Dries Van Noten, Blazé Milano and Rabanne – all look elegant with a sleek loafer or kitten heel. “The SS25 collections were all about romanticism and celebrating the female form, which meant lots of sheer textures and flowing silhouettes – gossamer light fabrics floated down the runway at top shows including Khaite, Tove, Valentino and Saint Laurent. What I like most about this trend is that you can interpret it however you choose, be it from head-to-toe à la Chloé or – for those of us who prefer a touch more coverage – with a blazer or knit.
