A new opening on the storied South Italian coastline is always cause for note, and the Borgo Santandrea looks to be a beautiful boutique addition to the region’s hotel offering. Perched around 90 meters above the Tyrrhenian Sea, looking out over the charming fishing village of Conca dei Marini, the views are showstopping – and there is a wealth of spots from which to soak them up. There are Mediterranean-inspired gardens, a private pebbled beach (the only of its kind on the Amalfi Coast), three restaurants, an outdoor saltwater pool, a jetty and a boat. Marrakech’s Hivernage district is the destination for Nobu Hotel Marrakech, one of the group’s newest openings, close to the vibrant souks of the ancient city center. The brand will serve up its distinctive style of large-scale luxury, punctuated by an array of dining options and rooftop terraces, a glorious spa and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Wildflower Farms, Hudson Valley, New York, US

A wellness retreat on a 150-acre luscious expanse just 90 minutes from New York City, Wildflower Farms is set to immerse city dwellers in nature, where the Hudson River Valley meets the Catskill Mountains. The resort concept, designed by Auberge Resorts Collection, in collaboration with the California architecture studio Electric Bowery and New York designers Ward and Gray, incorporates orchards, heirloom gardens, a farm and fields – with namesake wildflowers galore. The accommodation comprises 65 standalone bungalows, cottages and suites decked out in natural materials. Opening fall 2022

Scotland’s eminent, mononymous estate is coming into town, with Gleneagles’ debut city outpost reviving a central townhouse to deliver a boutique-style, 33-room hotel. The venue will also be home to an all-day restaurant and bar, a rooftop bar and terrace, plus a private members’ club. Opening in spring 2022

Cap Karoso will open on the enthralling, remote island of Sumba this summer. There are three core pillars at the heart of this serene eco resort: sustainability, culture and community (its sustainability credentials include operating on 50 percent solar-panel energy, with an aim to reach 80 percent by 2025). Celebrating the rich history and landscape of its spectacular location, this passion project from French adventurers Fabrice and Evguenia Ivara is designed by Gary Fell’s Gfab Architects to blend into the backdrop, with Sumbanese antiques and contemporary Indonesian art adorning the hotel. Social spaces are created with a sense of open communality – from the chef’s-table restaurant to the alfresco cinemas and beach club. Opening in July 2022

Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, 1 Hotel Paris will serve as a ‘green lung’ in the Paris Rive Gauche area. The hotel will bring the brand’s innovative and verdant commitment to eco luxury to the City of Light, with multiple suspended gardens, a lush roof terrace, swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym, restaurant and a co-working space.

On the majestic beaches of Phu Quoc Island’s western coast, the just-opened Regent Pho Quoc is an all-suite-and-villa resort where the design, by the Singapore-based Blink Design Group, melds traditional and modern Vietnamese styles. Looking over the azure waters across the Gulf of Thailand, you’ll be hard pressed to find sunsets as spectacular as on Phu Quoc, which is recognized by Unesco as a World Biosphere Reserve. From an array of sublime culinary experiences to the spa, which offers locally inspired treatments, Regent Pho Quoc will be a dazzling addition to the island.

Janu, Pržno, Montenegro

Aman Resorts has unveiled its new hotel brand, Janu, this year, which is built with the same philosophies and sophisticated design principles as its sister brand – though with an emphasis on more casual and sociable interactions and a community feel (Aman means ‘peace’ in Sanskrit, Janu means ‘soul’). Janu is opening three hotels, including this one in Montenegro, which offers striking vistas of the glistening Adriatic coast. It is perfectly situated for hiking in the surrounding mountain trails and boating on the bay, as well as unwinding in the variety of inside and outside dining, lounge and bar areas. It also features the world's first Janu Spa.
