As the birthplace of haute couture and home to some of the world’s most prestigious ateliers, Paris’s synonymity with fashion spans centuries – a legacy shaped by the brands (established and emerging) that are presently bringing the SS25 shows to a close in the French capital this week.

One such brand is Chloé. The epitome of Left Bank elegance, the maison’s free-spirited femininity flows through its FW24 collection, which balances floaty bohemian silhouettes with ’70s-inpired tailoring. “Country dressing is a major trend this season, and Chloé really nails the look with this chic herringbone jacket,” says NET-A-PORTER shopping assistant Millie Parry. “I’ll be styling mine with a cream cable-knit and wide-leg jeans, finishing it off with the must-have investment of the season: a suede bag. I have my eye on Givenchy’s sumptuous ‘Voyou’ style,” she adds. Alternatively, embrace the show styling by wearing yours with a romantic blouse and the brand’s leather ‘Eve’ boots – the cuffs are supple enough to be pulled up to the knee or slouched at the ankle.

If you tend to veer more towards neutrals, adding a pop of color is a great way to elevate some of your favorite tonal looks. Isabel Marant’s ‘Joely’ tank comes in a captivating shade of red that shimmers with metallic flecks, and has a sleek racer-back shape. It’ll layer beautifully beneath weightier jackets and knits, but will look just as chic worn alone with leather pants – just as it was on the runway.

Beautifully cut tailoring can totally transform the way you carry yourself, especially when it’s as sharp as Saint Laurent’s ‘Le Smoking’. Reminiscent of styles from the brand’s archives, these pants are made from lustrous silk-satin in a pleated straight-leg shape and call to mind the pair captured in Helmut Newton’s iconic photograph, taken on Rue Aubriot in 1975. Wear yours to the office with a classic button-down shirt or a matching tuxedo jacket and heels for dressier events – Alaïa’s embellished tomato-red fishnet pumps will make any outfit stand out.

Finally, the secret to truly nailing French style is with a classic watch. A modern heirloom in the making, Cartier’s ‘Ballon Bleu de Cartier’ timepiece is crafted from stainless steel with a distinctive pebble-shaped case and a sleek bracelet strap. It will make a memorable gift either for a loved one or yourself.
