AM

The one change I’ve made to my morning regime…

…is to start setting the alarm five minutes earlier than I used to – the difference it has made is incredible. I always rushed the family in the morning and it was super-stressful. Now, with those extra five minutes, things seem to be running far more effortlessly.

I cleanse my face with oil every morning…

It makes such an enormous difference to the way your skin looks and creates the perfect base for makeup. I spend a few minutes on my skin, using the oil and massaging it in. I follow with the Votary Toning Serum and a facial oil, depending on how my skin is feeling. During the colder months, I layer Votary Super Seed Nutrient Cream over my facial oil, for serious hydration and protection against the elements.

SPF is a non-negotiable for me…

…and I swear by Dr. Dennis Gross Dark Spot Sun Defense SPF50 and wear it throughout the year. I usually go makeup-free, but for meetings I will pop a little NARS Tinted Moisturizer and touch up with its Radiant Creamy Concealer. A dusting of Hourglass Bronzer livens up my complexion on dull days.

I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect hair tamer…

…and I always find myself coming back to Philip Kingsley. The Elasticizer and Extreme Moisture Conditioner are game-changers for my frizz.

I usually start the day…

…with a slice of wholemeal toast and peanut butter, but if I am in London for meetings, I’ll often be found eating pancakes at Ham Yard Hotel. I take a spoonful of Votary Super Seed Nutritional Supplement every morning – it’s a blend of 10 cold-pressed virgin seed oils that have been balanced for optimal omega 3, 6 and 9 benefits. It has made a noticeable difference to the health of my skin, hair and nails.

PM

I am obsessed with face cloths…

…and have a stack of them in my bathroom. I think everyone should use one to cleanse with – they’re just the best way to get your skin really clean and are better for the environment.

Yoga has been a revelation

I cannot be without my weekly yoga class – nothing else comes close to being as good for my mind and body.

Sunday evenings are my moment of calm…

…and an opportunity for some self-care. This is also the time when I’m thinking about the approaching week and trying to mentally prepare for what lies ahead. I often do a mask with our Super Seed Cleansing Oil, by applying it before I get into the bath and leaving it on my skin for 10 minutes. I then like to scrub my body with Susanne Kaufmann’s Detox Oil Scrub – it’s heavenly!

Makeup artist Kay Montano once gave me the best piece of advice

She taught me that skin is everything to great makeup and to only cover up what’s needed. She would make me rub foundation off [my clients’] foreheads on a regular basis! It’s really stayed with me, and I am certain that’s why I’ve launched a skincare brand rather than a makeup brand.

On my bedside table…

…is the latest David Nicholls book, Sweet Sorrow, Votary Antidote Night Oil, for dry hands and feet, and a precious magic wand that my nephew made me – I like to think it brings me sweet dreams.
