LOVE FOREVER
Charnas invests in “classic and simple” pieces that will stand the test of time

Wear what you want, when you want

“My style is solely based on my mood. As a Gemini, it’s constantly changing, and that’s why, even during fashion week, I never pre-plan my outfits – I pick them on the morning of the show, without putting too much thought into them. I think as I’ve gotten older, I’ve been investing more in classic, simple pieces that I can wear and cherish for life. I love Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as designers, and The Row’s FW19 show was my favorite on New York’s schedule – if I could wear The Row every day, I would! The Olsens are also my style icons because I feel like their taste is very real and raw; they’re not trying to impress anybody.”

The little details are important

“I can’t ever leave the house without jewelry on and never feel fully dressed without rings and earrings. I like colorful, funky styles but also more classic pieces like my wedding band and my Cartier Juste un Clou diamond bracelet. I love discovering and wearing new, up-and-coming designers who are trying to get their names out, and many of my best friends are in the jewelry business, so it’s great to support them.”

Accessorize all year round

“I’m a denim girl through and through, but in the summer I rarely wear jeans, usually shorts. We just got back from a pre-summer vacation and I bought a lot from NET-A-PORTER for it, including an Esteban Cortazar dress that I’m so in love with. I dress for the beach the same way I would for any occasion – accessories and all – and always feel confident in a bikini, especially one by Lisa Marie Fernandez. In my beach bag, you’d find my phone, a hair tie and a water bottle.”

Learn to DIY

“As far as hair goes, I’m in control. I don’t let anyone else do or touch my hair for weddings or events unless I know everything about them and their work. I just like doing it myself and actually find it therapeutic. With beauty, I’m terrible at doing my own makeup but love and appreciate it so much. I like to try a variety of products and enjoy playing around with different brands including Tom Ford Beauty, Supergoop!, NARS and Milk Makeup. The same goes for skincare – right now I’m a big fan of Lancer.”

FASHION INSPIRATION
Charnas (pictured with her husband, Brandon) calls her mom her biggest style icon

Have dress-down days

“My husband Brandon likes it when I’m casual, so on a date I’ll wear something like a T-shirt and jeans with hoop earrings. And if it’s our go-to sushi spot, I’ll wear sneakers just because he thinks it’s really hot. But I’m also a big high heel girl, so I tend to wear them out with my friends, usually with a chic blazer. Everyone in my family has great style, and even though we’re all so different we still manage to share pieces. How my two sisters [stylist Danielle and beauty blogger Michaela] dress is definitely an inspiration, but our mom is our biggest style icon. Her look in the ’90s was everything.”
