Originally inspired by a world of cinematic Sicilian fantasy, design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's signature styles include lace, corseting, and dramatic tailoring. In our edit of the label's skirts, you don't have to look far to spot such design features. That, and nods to the duo's early influences like Sofia Loren - with vintage silhouettes harking back to the nipped-in waists and romantic shapes of decades gone-by.

Whether mini, maxi, A-line or figure-hugging, a Dolce and Gabbana skirt can be relied on for its exceptional tailoring and pitch-perfect use of materials. Recent A/W collections have seen the fashion powerhouse go big on lingerie-inspired elements like Chantilly lace, as well as corset-style designs. Meanwhile, S/S lines show off brilliant tropical prints and quintessentially D&G florals. Look out for the occasional embellishment of buttons, ruffles and feathers, too - this is Dolce and Gabbana, after all.
