AM

I start my day by doing things that put me in a good mood

I pray, walk my dog, Yumi, and scroll through TikTok to find something to laugh about – it really works.

I begin my beauty routine in the shower…

…with a gentle, foaming face wash and a light exfoliation. Once I’m out of the shower, I follow it with a gentle toner, hyaluronic acid, and a serum to treat my acne and dark spots. A face cream is next and an eye cream is a must. Ideally, I then apply SPF but, honestly, I’m not always consistent.

I’m obsessed with body scrubs

I use one at least once a week and a few days after I get my arms waxed. It really helps my skin stay smooth.

I like to layer my bodycare

I love a thick cream during the winter and a lighter one during summer. I top up with a light body oil so that my skin stays really hydrated, and then I finish with a fragrance, misted all over.

If I’m not feeling cute…

…I shift my focus to what I’m wearing. Feeling good in my clothes, wearing jewelry, smelling amazing and having a beautiful makeup look really compensates for those ‘bad’ face days. I also love a retinol serum – it’s my go-to when I notice my skin needs a bit of a boost.

I find the gym boring…

…so activities that keep me fit and moving are my workouts of choice. I walk my dog every day, and I also enjoy pole dancing, yoga, cycling, swimming and even rock climbing. I don’t like sticking to just one thing – trying lots of sports keeps my body and mind active.

I love a deep-tissue massage

In fact I need one right now! I go to SoJo Spa Club in New Jersey – I love escaping the city for a restful retreat.

PM

I don’t restrict my food…

…life is too short. I love dessert, so I can’t eat at a restaurant that doesn’t have a good dessert menu. My meal is never complete without something sweet.

I like to do my own nails

It’s the perfect way to focus on myself and calm my bustling mind. Other perfect pamper moments are sleeping, listening to Adele while I cuddle my pets after a long day, and taking a hot shower.

I try not to fight jet lag

Instead, I’ll go with the jet-lag flow and slowly push through the hours until it meets my correct time-zone routine. There’s no point stressing over jet lag. If I wake up really early, I’ll just start my day – it can even be productive and quiet, which is a bonus for me. Starting early also means I can nap during the day or go to sleep early – then, slowly but surely, I beat the jet lag without it having too much of an effect on me.

When I’m wired but tired…

…CBD and rain sounds are my go-tos for a restful night’s sleep. I use them individually, or both combined at the weekend, so that I can sleep without worries or disturbances.

My best beauty advice…

…is from me! I always moisturize my skin before I apply any makeup. When I invest time in prepping my skin with a lovely moisturizer and primer, I notice how good my makeup looks – honestly, it’s the first step to having flawless, smooth makeup.

On my bedside table…

…is my Bible, Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and my night light. Laneige does the best lip balm ever – I have several all over my apartment. And I always leave my night light on because I’m afraid of the dark.

I traveled to Aruba last year…

…and it changed my life. I realized I love being on an island and that there is a sense of peace and fulfillment I derive from being in such a beautiful environment. I hope to get more of it this year.
