The beauty game changer: Rose quartz eye buds
Facial massage just reached spiritual new heights… By EVIE LEATHAM
Known as the ‘Hollywood glow girl’ by her clients – who include actress Hilary Duff and model Helena Christensen – Bel Air-based facialist Angela Caglia has merged her French skincare know-how, Californian spirituality and glow-giving results into an eco-luxe skincare range that comes complete with crystal tools. Case in point: these ergonomic ‘buds’, carved from healing rose quartz (said to nurture ‘self-love energy’) are specially sized, shaped and weighted to soothe the eye area.
Of course, rose quartz itself won’t banish undereye circles, but massaging does. “The cool stone stimulates blood flow under the eyes, so they are great for combating puffiness and dark circles in the morning, especially if you haven’t had a good night’s sleep,” says Caglia. She uses them morning and night after applying her Luxurious Face Oil or Soufflé Moisturizer, both of which contain meadowfoam seed oil – Caglia’s go-to for glow, which she first used neat in her treatments (it has an affinity with the skin’s natural oils, making it easily absorbed).
INSIDER TIP: Caglia presses the buds lightly under the eyes, starting in the inner corners and moving outwards toward the ears where excess fluid can be drained via lymph nodes. “Use them with slightly heavier pressure over and in-between the eyebrows to release muscle tension,” she advises. “I also like to dip them in hot water for 30 seconds before using them over my entire face as a warm stone massage. It feels especially cosseting in cool weather, and encourages facial oils and moisturizers to penetrate the skin.”
