If the only thing stopping you from booking that last-minute summer getaway is feeling somewhat uninspired by the summer clothes in your closet, then waste no time adding Sir.’s ‘Serene’ maxi dress to your basket. From the brand’s Pre-Fall ’25 collection, and exclusive to NET-A-PORTER, it’s cut on the bias from lightweight silk in an effortless figure-skimming silhouette that’s perfect for slipping on in balmy climes.

“Sir.’s slip dress will see you through a hot summer’s day, either dressed down with flip flops or elevated with heels for a party in the evening,” says NET-A-PORTER’s shopping assistant, Haajira Muzzamil. “The pretty soft-focus floral print means you can keep the rest of your outfit relatively simple; I’ll be embracing a laid-back vacation mood by adding a sprinkling of glistening gold jewelrySuzanne Kalan’s diamond-encrusted ‘Block Chain’ bracelet and Roxanne First’s hoop earrings are my top picks – and dewy, barely-there makeup,” she adds.

Suede may not always seem very practical, but care for it properly (we recommend a good protective spray) and it’ll last just as long as leather – and age as well, too. If you aren’t ready to commit to a coat or jacket, then start with accessories instead. Top of Muzzamil’s list? “I have my eye on Proenza Schouler’s ‘Brant’ bucket bag this season – it’s big enough to hold everything I need for a day at the office, or by the beach, including a water bottle and headphones. Plus, I love that the strap is interchangeable, so you can switch up the way you wear it,” she says.

As we cast our minds to the transitional months ahead, now is the perfect time to start identifying any gaps in your closet for those classic-with-a-twist staples you’ll be relying on come fall. Another Tomorrow’s organic cotton-poplin shirt from our NET SUSTAIN edit comes in this season’s favorite butter-yellow shade and will look just as chic layered over a tank and shorts in warmer weather as it will buttoned up with Jacquemus’s voluminous barrel-leg ‘The Ovalo de-Nîme’ jeans and a jacket on cooler days. Complement the muted color palette with tonal accessories, like Jil Sander’s cream leather ballet flats – detailed with eyelets and oversized buckles – and Ferragamo’s ‘Hug’ tote in a delicious chocolate suede.
