Elle Fanning’s Los Angeles
Working in Hollywood since she was two years old means that ELLE FANNING knows her way around the City of Angels. Now aged 20, the actor, fashion muse and two-time PorterEdit cover star shares her favorite LA hangouts
For some LA style
“I like Playclothes, this vintage store on Magnolia Boulevard – it’s a good street for vintage shopping. I’ve been going there since I was nine years old, so they all know me. It has pieces from all different decades, including home decor and knick-knacks, and everything is for sale. The last time I went in, I bought a bunch of ’80s power suits. A green one, a dark purple one, a black one… They are a little Joan Cusack, but actually maybe more Sigourney Weaver.”
For a stylish bite
“I like Gjusta in Venice for lunch – it’s pretty far away from central LA but it’s worth the journey. It’s actually part of Abbot Kinney hot spot(http://www.gjelina.com/), but it’s their lunchy place. It’s light, airy and very summery. I always get the chicken parmigiana sandwich.”
For total relaxation
“The Wi Spa is a really nice Korean spa. I normally go with a big group of my friends and it’s so relaxing. I find it fascinating because you could literally live there – you could stay there for days and sleep and eat. When I’m there, I don't know where I am and I don’t know what time it is. It’s time-warpy.”
For a cool culture fix
“I recently went to see the Sarah Sitkin show at Superchief, which is a great downtown gallery. It was an exhibit called Bodysuits featuring amazing prosthetics that were all embroidered. You could try them on, and if Sarah was there, you could set up a fitting. It was really fun!”
