London-based label Marques’ Almeida might have built a reputation for its avant-garde takes on denim, but often it’s the ever-so-subtle details that pique our interest. Take its soft ecru boyfriend jean – a slouchy-cool style with frayed cuffs, crafted from organic cotton. Softer in shade than its ever-popular stark-white cousin, the earthy, neutral tones of this piece give it year-round mileage.

For sun-soaked days in the city, experiment by clashing feminine shapes and motifs with pieces that mirror the masculine elements of the jeans. A boxy white shirt by Equipment has twice as much impact when offset by Emilio Pucci’s ‘Albizia’ swimsuit – a vibrant leaf-print one-piece with a daring scoop neck – and the alluring silhouette of Celine’s cat-eye shades. For finishing touches, slip on a low-key strappy sandal, such as A Emery’s ‘Milos’, then pair with the gold ‘Strength’ pendant by Foundrae and Wandler’s sculptural shoulder bag.

As the temperature drops, trade short sleeves and swimsuits for a cozy intarsia knit – this dark yet playful Stella McCartney piece is sure to elicit a grin, and try layering a pastel tank top underneath for a sherbet pop of color. Veja’s eco-chic sneakers in a sleek all-white leather lend a touch of polish to laid-back looks, while Foundrae’s chain necklace adds an unexpected edge. Complete the ensemble with Dragon Diffusion’s ‘Egola’ – a woven tote in a tan leather that’ll transition seamlessly through the seasons.
