A curated roundup of the best new fashion arrivals, hand-picked by our editors
Ciao, Milano! This week, the fashion set touched down in the Italian fashion capital, where an exciting week of designer debuts awaits. Major houses from Bottega Veneta and Gucci to Versace and Jil Sander have had a changing of the guard – and there’s nothing that shakes up fashion week quite like the unveiling of a creative director’s first collection, which sets the tone for the brand’s next chapter. Gucci’s new vision has taken the house’s inherent mix of glamour and irreverence and dialed it up a notch for spring/summer ’26. For the current season, fans of the brand will adore this patent-leather jacket from the fall ’25 runway collection. “Gucci’s leather jacket is the perfect hero piece for those inevitably cloudy days to come – the cotton-candy pink is a total mood booster,” says Megan Hunt, NET-A-PORTER’s senior fashion assistant. “I’d suggest styling it with a high-neck top, paired with wide-leg jeans to complement the structure of the jacket. Then pop on some heels and you’re set from morning to evening.”
When it comes to bags, Italian fashion houses have crafted some of the most iconic styles in history. Bottega Veneta’s slogan is ‘When your own initials are enough’, which underlines its IYKYK logo-free approach. Embrace discreet luxury with its ‘Bang Bang’ bag in a playful vanity-case silhouette, crafted in the house’s signature intrecciato leather in burgundy. Ferragamo, meanwhile, under the creative direction of Maximilian Davis, first revealed its ‘Hug’ tote at the brand’s fall/winter ’23 runway show; sweetly named for its folding side panels that appear to embrace the bag. This season, Davis focused on elevating the everyday via classic tailoring with a twist. In search of the perfect dress for the office? This striped herringbone wool-blend midi will look chic layered over a fine-knit turtleneck, or styled with the matching jacket and Gianvito Rossi’s sleek pumps.
While higher heels are making a comeback, showgoers are often spotted in pretty flats as they dash between the front rows and showroom appointments, and Jil Sander’s buckled ballet flats, with their pronounced round toes, have become a fashion editor go-to. Another fashion-week essential? Oversized shades. Bottega Veneta Eyewear’s ‘Drop’ sunglasses are crafted in Italy from black acetate and have a distinctly 1970s feel – perfect for nailing the boho look (and hiding tired eyes the morning after a fashion-week party).
