Indeed, Theory has prided itself on this measured approach ever since its inception in 1997. The brand, established by Andrew Rosen and Elie Tahari, launched with a collection of stretch-fit pants that were both comfortable and cool – a far cry from the dressed-up, after-dark mood permeating the city’s runways at the time. Inspired by a slower pace of living and an extended period of time spent at home, this season, the brand’s garments are crafted almost entirely from wool for the first time. Lightweight merino wools and cashmeres are woven with a technical stretch for comfort, while the neutral, spring-like hues form a uniform that can seamlessly be layered for both indoor and outdoor wear. Ribbed-knit tops in eggshell blue shades feature angular hemlines, while midi-skirts with fit-and-flare silhouettes will feel suitably off-duty but still have enough polish for the office.
