Allude’s contemporary cozy signatures will see you through FW21 and beyond
The Munich-based label offers directional yet timeless cashmere pieces that are sumptuously soft and endlessly chic
Fewer fibers feel as comforting to swathe ourselves in than cashmere. The sumptuously soft textile has long-been revered in luxury circles for its extra-fine handle and decadent feel, which can not only cocoon – like a polished, protective layer from the world around us – but also looks chic while doing so.
And fewer labels answer that seamless intersection of sartorial need quite like Allude, which was established in Munich in 1993. Founder and creative director Andrea Karg set out with an agenda to offer women directional wardrobe staples that are enduringly soft, supremely comfortable and endlessly wearable; it’s no surprise the label was the first specialist cashmere brand to show at Paris Fashion Week.
This gravitation towards pieces that are subtly trend-focused yet grounded in classicism is prevalent for FW21, too. Knitted dresses in midi lengths feature oversized proportions and raw hemlines that bring an everyday approachability, and shoelace waist ties that bring structure; they are just as easily worn with boots to the office as with socks and shearling slides at home. And when the temperature drops? Shrug on an elongated overcoat in wool for a look that will see you through the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, the classic Aran sweater has been reinterpreted with understated pom-pom details, making it both wearable yet whimsically nostalgic – pack it in your suitcase for escapes to the countryside, or pair with denim, a crisp shirt and fluid tailored pants for a look that will seamlessly take you from work to weekend in the city.
This season, Allude’s outerwear also offers a chic, cozy sensibility that looks anything but off-duty; elongated overcoats are trimmed with fuzzy collars for an extra-snug feel when pounding the pavements.
Utility is naturally imbued within each of Allude’s considered, purpose-driven pieces. This derives from Karg’s background as a self-professed fashion outsider (she initially trained in law). Like all good ideas, Allude was borne out of her own frustration at the lack of polished pieces she herself wanted to wear. Ignited by her love for cashmere, she set out to the wilds of the mountainous Central Asian region in pursuit of nomadic cashmere goat herders, from whom she still sources her premium fibers today.
Inspired by the landscape and the purity of cashmere, Allude’s palette draws from a neutral, natural place this season; concrete grays are offset by icy whites and mocha tones, which perfectly demonstrate quality and craftsmanship. With the utmost respect for this natural fiber, Allude is committed to sustainable artisanship and the endurance of each piece; they’re designed to be worn and loved forever, which is the reason the label has its own repair service to ensure your treasured knits stay pristine. Easy, understated and endlessly wearable, these comforting pieces are guaranteed to be beloved items in your closet for seasons to come — whether at home or outdoors.
