We often rely on floral prints to add romanticism to our outfits. Those seeking fantastical blooms this week should head straight to Brock Collection, the LA-based brand beloved for its statement pieces with a vintage feel. The label’s SS20 runway show was held in the equally beautiful Pierre hotel ballroom in New York, where it showcased dreamy floor-sweeping skirts and corseted dresses that our fashion features editor, Megan Logue, has fallen in love with.
“I’m a huge fan of Brock Collection and the deft way it makes traditionally feminine pieces feel modern with its masterful cuts. The label’s SS20 collection was a celebration of its raw yet romantic aesthetic, and I’ve been dreaming about this show-stopping floral gown ever since I saw it on the runway – the waist-cinching bodice feels totally fresh, especially against the gently ruffled skirt. I have a lot of weddings coming up this year, and this is the kind of dress I’ll always be able to rely on to make an entrance. This piece is a statement in itself, so I’ll be keeping the rest of my look pared-back: a slick hairstyle, bold lipstick and a few minimal rings are the only embellishment this knockout needs.”
If you, too, are keen to make a grand entrance, check out Zimmermann’s embroidered linen blouse with statement puff sleeves. Team it with straight-leg jeans and sneakers, or dress it up with statement jewelry, tailored pants and kitten heels for the office or an event.
