Under normal circumstances, at this time of year, the PORTER fashion team would have just attended the shows in London and be mid-Milan Fashion Week. Instead, this season, we took in LFW via digital presentations, and the beautiful collections proved that London is still the well of creativity it has long been celebrated as. Feeling inspired, the team has been on the hunt for new pieces by some of the city’s most-loved designers.

JW Anderson is a master of experimental tailoring, and this utility jacket exhibits that in a chicly understated way, by splicing tonal hues of army green in soft wool and twill to create a cool patchwork effect. Rejina Pyo is also adored for her ability to make everyday pieces look extraordinary; her high-waisted, pleated pants are cut in a relaxed, wide-leg silhouette that is incredibly flattering.

Junior fashion market editor Abbi Minchin has fallen for an oversized white shirt dress by British heritage house Alexander McQueen. “As the seasons begin to shift, I’m reaching for key transitional wardrobe pieces in muted tones – from skirts paired with blazers to light knits and pants. Shirting is a go-to for me, and an Alexander McQueen shirt dress is at the top of my wish list. I’d style it with second-skin boots – as it was on the runway – or pared back with flat sandals on a rare sunny day. Neous is one of my favorite footwear brands, so I have been excitedly anticipating the launch of its bags – the label’s Pluto pleated clutch bag in particular is so easy to grab and go. I’ll add a touch of gold jewelry to complete a comfortable outfit that is perfect for dinner with friends.” Look to London-based brands Completedworks and Alighieri for elegant and contemporary gold jewelry.
