A curated round-up of the best new fashion arrivals, hand-picked by our editors
As social-distancing becomes the new normal for people across the globe, here at PORTER, we’ve been finessing our working-from-home wardrobes and using our personal style as a means of keeping our spirits up. For senior fashion editor Helen Broadfoot, that means investing in elegant pieces by her favorite designers and giving them a seasonal spin. Which is why, when a handful of runway pieces from Loewe dropped on the site this week, she swiftly purchased a structured top that had been on her wish list since she first spied it at the SS20 shows.
“There’s something so refreshing about this crisp white Loewe camisole, which was styled on the runway over a white skirt. Clean, simple and effortless, it’s the kind of piece that I’ve found is key when it comes to mastering WFH dressing. Ultimately, you want comfortable pieces you can wear with ease but that also feel polished and give you a sense of purpose. I plan on keeping it low-key – and celebrating the fact that spring has finally arrived in London – by wearing mine with a pair of denim pedal-pushers and finishing with playful accessories: a crocheted cotton tote, luxe slides and chic cat-eye sunglasses make for a mood-boosting outfit.”
Follow suit and overhaul your 9-5 look with performance-enhancing pieces. JW Anderson’s satin-trimmed blazer gives a whole new meaning to the term ‘power dressing’, while Loulou Studio’s wide-leg linen pants strike the perfect balance between smart and casual. When it comes to accessories, now is the time to invest in forever pieces that you’ll wear, and cherish, for seasons to come, such as Hermès’ iconic Heure H timepiece and Chloé’s covetable Daria bag.
