Staud’s Latest Collection Has You Covered From Sunrise To Sundown
The LA-based brand unveils its dreamy new collection of dresses and separates, championing pretty floral prints, chic silhouettes and sensual cutouts
Versatile dresses and elegant separates lead the charge in LA-based brand Staud’s resort 2022 collection. Indeed, our desire to peel off WFH sweatpants and dress up again is palpable in this array of ultra-pretty prints and provocative cutouts: “It’s not weather-specific, but it’s tied together in this idea of versatility,” designer and brand co-founder Sarah Staudinger told Vogue. “Internally we’ve been joking that it’s buy now, where now, which is cheesy but I think is a good way to describe a resort collection.”
Influenced by California’s super bloom of poppies earlier this year, Staudinger scattered supersized poppies across a dreamy organza gown, then shrunk them down into a ditzy floral print on day dresses, too. Have a wedding on the horizon? The organza version will guarantee your place as best-dressed guest. We love its delicate, gauzy finish and elegant low-cut back. Style it with tonal sandals and gold jewelry. For more low-key affairs, the versatile, ditzy-printed mini tea dress and cutout midi, can be styled with sneakers, sandals or boots to suit the occasion.
“Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez and Margot Robbie fell in love with the brand’s sweet and ultra-flattering silhouettes, and quickly established it as one of the West Coast’s buzziest brands
”
Staudinger makes a strong case for color this season too, with sunshine yellows and sky blues calling to mind leisurely days spent beachside with cloudless skies in LA. One day-to-evening maxi dress in a joyful yellow hue can be styled with flat sandals for pools parties, then dressed up with strappy kitten heels once the sun sets. Meanwhile, a pretty cotton poplin corseted gown, decorated in an azure-blue print depicting palm trees, tropical flowers and wildlife, is perfect for afternoon soirées on balmy days. Pair it with flat sandals and a basket bag.
Eveningwear is catered for here, too, with a slinky, long-sleeved black dress featuring sensual waist cutouts, side slits and a vegan-leather trim. Style it with knee boots for an effortlessly cool after-dark look. We also adore the glamorous vegan-leather midi skirt with its sculptural fluted silhouette; style it with the vegan-leather halterneck for a sleek yet statement take – then complete the look with barely there sandals and a chic, ’90s-style shoulder bag.
Staudinger cut her teeth at Reformation before joining forces with co-founder George Augusto in 2015 to launch Staud, with a business motto that fashion shouldn’t just empower women – it should be accessible, too. Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez and Margot Robbie fell in love with the brand’s sweet and ultra-flattering silhouettes, and quickly established it as one of the West Coast’s buzziest brands. A title it continues to uphold with this stellar new-season offering.
