Another Tomorrow’s Thoughtful Designs Are For Now And Forever

Conscious, considered and cultured, this New York label’s approach to luxury resonates with the woman who seeks style with substance

How should a person get dressed? According to their heart or their head? According to aesthetics or ethics, for style or with substance? It might sound like a dilemma, but for the thoughtful dresser, the answer is a no-brainer: you should consider (and can actually have) all the above. You just need to know where to look.

For the woman who wants modern luxury with uncompromising ethical credentials, one of the first ports of call is Another Tomorrow. Part of NET-A-PORTER’s NET SUSTAIN edit, the B Corp-certified New York-based label’s conscious collections have rapidly risen to favor among those who are always seeking to learn, and who find that elegant, elevated design looks better with a side of advocacy (just ask fans of the label, such as Angelina Jolie, who joined the brand’s advisory board in 2024, Ava DuVernay and Margot Robbie).

It was in 2018, while on a sabbatical from her former career in banking, that founder and CEO Vanessa Barboni Hallik established Another Tomorrow (finance’s loss, fashion’s gain). Initially looking to pivot into sustainable finance, the more she learnt about the fashion industry and the problems it faces, the more she felt galvanized to act. She wanted to really do something.

Enter Another Tomorrow. “My mission is to create a truly sustainable and compassionate company,” says Barboni Hallik, “[by] building a foundational wardrobe of ethically and responsibly made clothing”. That means working with impeccably sourced and custom-crafted materials, prioritizing the welfare and rights of workers, and exhibiting care and compassion for animals and the environment.

This is intelligent, elegant design that excites, inspires and delights for years to come

The brand’s systems and methods are to be admired and applauded, and its mission is only elevated by the equally immaculate attention to design. Equal parts strong and sensual, the label’s confident pieces, understated but always interesting – think luxe, languid tailoring, architectural separates and sumptuous, masterfully cut outerwear – are made to transcend seasons. This is intelligent, elegant design that excites, inspires and delights for years to come.

For SS25, Another Tomorrow takes the work of the artist Carol Bove as its jumping-off point, her abstract sculptures translating into a sleek and tactile collection that is both versatile and inviting. Washed fluid jersey, liquid satins and mid-weight crepes are draped and shaped into clever pieces that are both talking-point worthy and ready to refresh the items you already own and love.

Pieces to note this season include a sweeping cocoon top, immaculately tailored pants and gently flowing silk camis. Cementing the label’s reputation for superlative outerwear, transitional trenches come with dropped shoulders, oversized tab belt loops and epaulettes, while its future-classic ‘Moto’ biker jacket is crafted from a sustainable leather alternative that’s both innovative and incredibly stylish. Bold, saturated shades – such as mint green, berry and a zingy sky blue – are offset with neutral hues of off-white, khaki, navy and black. Materials, as ever, are meticulously chosen to chime with Another Tomorrow’s values, including cruelty-free, bio-based ‘leather’, organic cottons and farm-traceable wools. The result? Clothes that feel as good as they look. Which is great news for your heart, your head and, of course, your closet.
