“Prior to a vacation, when my legs will get more exposure than usual in swimsuits and dresses, I like to give them a little extra TLC. I recently discovered Dimple Amani’s incredible lymphatic-drainage treatment – inspired by Ayurvedic practices, the body is transformed and sculpted in an hour. To maintain the amazing results following a treatment, I try to do dry body brushing every day, too. Supergoop!’s Glowscreen is another daily essential that I love, and at least two tubes come with me on a trip. Super-light and non-comedogenic, it can be used as a primer, but when I’m away I use it alone to create a dewy complexion and protect me from the sun – it’s a true hero product. Makeup, meanwhile, isn’t much of a priority when I’m on the beach or by the pool, but the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Volume III is a travel must-have. A light dusting over the face enhances a radiant glow and makes your skin look flawless. I love this deeper shade range for summer when I’m tanned, too. Hair-wise, I try to get to Charlotte Mensah’s salon as often as I can for a deep hair treatment and scalp scrub. Her award-winning Manketti Hair Oil is the perfect product to help combat frizz while you’re somewhere hot. I like to be relatively low maintenance on vacation, and this wonder oil keeps any strays in place when I tie my hair in a chic, loose bun.”

“Alongside a good supply of SPF, I always pack the Hair Rituel By Sisley Restructuring Nourishing Balm – a lifesaver for my dry, bleached lengths and ends. As it’s used pre-shampoo, I either sleep in it or use it to slick my hair back into a ponytail when at the beach or by the pool. Use this every few days on vacation and you’ll come back with hair in better condition that when you left. Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair is another product I’ve used for years, and don’t go anywhere without. The original super-serum, it contains hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, so it’s excellent to use after a day at the beach – it even helps to take down sunburn. With its amber and sandalwood accents, Tom Ford Beauty’s Eau de Soleil Blanc fragrance always reminds me of tanning oil on sun-warmed skin but, for vacation, I pack the Soleil Blanc Shimmering Rose Gold Body Oil because its platinum-and-gold-leaf-infused formula scents the skin while giving bare limbs and shoulders a gorgeous, shimmery finish. Finally, a new addition to my must-haves this year is U Beauty’s The Super Smart Hydrator. Silky and ultra-hydrating, it soothes and plumps up jet-lagged or dry skin and achieves amazingly good results.”

Charlotte Tilbury’s Cryo-Recovery Face Mask is one of my top recent travel essentials (second only to all-important SPF) and came recommended by NET-A-PORTER’s global beauty director. Perfect for popping on after a day at the beach (store it chilled in the minibar), it instantly cools you down and relieves any facial tension. I smooth on one of my favorite face serums (I’m obsessed with the glow Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare’s C + Collagen Deep Cream gives my complexion), then pop the mask on to help it really penetrate. I also apply a generous amount of SPF50 to my face every day, and Ultra Violette’s Supreme Screen Hydrating Facial Skinscreen SPF50+ is wonderful for adding a moisture boost to help counteract the drying effects of air-con and pool chlorine. I also try my best to keep my face out of the sun – an Acne Studios bucket hat comes in useful here. Lastly, no vacation cosmetics case is complete without a summer fragrance, one that will instantly evoke blissful vacation memories in a single spritz once you’re back home. Le Labo’s Santal 33 Eau de Parfum is one of my go-tos, and the 15ml size is ideal for squeezing into my carry-on.”

Rosie Jameson, senior beauty buyer

“My absolute must on vacation has to be the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF30 – it has a great texture and is completely clear, making it perfect for a city break or beach escape. Even though I try my best to stay well covered in the sun, I always follow up with a vitamin C serum to help prevent pigmentation, and my go-to is Dr. Barbara Sturm’s The Good C Vitamin C Serum. For an evening or day out exploring, my aim is a sun-kissed look that requires minimal effort. Charlotte Tilbury’s new Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzers are perfect for this, delivering a great cream texture that’s buildable to enhance your natural complexion in all the right places. I can’t live without a mascara, too, and always look for one with a silicone brush, as I find it really lengthens the lashes without clumping. My favorite is the Wander Beauty Upgraded Lashes Treatment Mascara – a lifesaver for tired-looking eyes.”

“You’ll never catch me on vacation without my favorite SPF50 and, after a day soaking up the sunshine, I love to indulge my skin with a luxurious face oil before bed. Pai Skincare is perfect for my sensitive skin, and its organic rosehip oil makes my face look glowing and plump in the morning. Body lotion is a big deal for me, too – I feel so much more confident in my swimwear when my skin is deeply moisturized because I find it softens my stretchmarks and makes me feel supple. After trying many different types over the years, I always revert to Líha’s Gold Shea Butter. When I’m on vacation, I don’t wear lots of makeup, but I do love the instant sun-kissed glow of Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Beauty Light Wand, paired with a bit of mascara. I’m currently on my third tube of the highlighter, and I love applying it on the highest point of my cheekbones for that ‘glazed donut’ look. When it comes to hair, the first time I tried Christophe Robin’s line, I was genuinely surprised at how well the formulation responded to my type 3C Afro texture and gave a gorgeous, soft hold to my curls. I use it religiously and the thought of going away without my conditioner and Luscious Curl Defining Cream genuinely terrifies me.”
