Tennis season is in full swing with its crown jewel, Wimbledon, getting underway on Monday. Cue celebrity superfans and royalty descending on the All England Lawn Tennis Club to watch the world’s best players compete for the Grand Slam title, including seven-time Wimbledon champion – and PORTER cover star – Serena Williams, who makes her return to the tournament after a four-year hiatus. But tennis won’t be the only spectator sport at play over the next two weeks. The who’s who of famous faces in the crowd will inevitably steal some spotlight away from Centre Court – and so will their outfits. Sienna Miller, Zendaya and Catherine, Princess of Wales have all been known to serve looks just as memorable as the matches themselves, offering up plenty of style inspiration should you find yourself lucky enough to be among the strawberries-and-cream-eating A-list this summer.
“I have had the pleasure of attending Wimbledon with Polo Ralph Lauren, which is the only brand to hold the distinction of Official Outfitter of The Championships,” says NET-A-PORTER buying manager Lydia Zacharis, who counts Gwyneth Paltrow in The Talented Mr. Ripley and Princess Diana as her courtside style inspiration. “Since we always have to plan for the UK’s unpredictable weather, you will see me with a Polo Ralph Lauren knit draped over my shoulders, either styled with a crisp cotton dress or a shirt and a knee-length pencil skirt. I’ll then round off my look with slim sunglasses, a baseball cap and thong sandals.”
When it comes to the dress code, the strict all-white rule technically only applies to competitors, but it’s often also adopted by the chicest fans in the stands. The perfect choice, Bernadette’s dress from our exclusive edit comes in an elegant halterneck silhouette that echoes the style made famous by Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch. Channel model Mona Tougaard by opting for tonal accessories, or pay homage to Wimbledon’s world-famous grass courts with Bottega Veneta’s green suede pouch.

While dresses tend to be the most popular choice for guests, there is no rule that says you can’t wear a suit – Nicole Kidman and Ambika Mod both wore tailoring last year. Follow their lead by styling Max Mara’s grain de poudre vest (either alone or over a pinstriped shirt and tie) with Bottega Veneta’s straight-leg pants from the spring/summer 2026 runway, then add Aquazzura’s ‘Luna Rope’ sandals (another NET-A-PORTER exclusive) and Savette’s ‘Slim Symmetry’ suede clutch – the elongated shape is the perfect size for your sunglasses and a fan to keep you cool.
Finally, no courtside look would be complete without a tennis bracelet. Defined by a continuous row of scintillating diamonds, the style got its name after an incident at the 1978 US Open, when former world No. 1 Chris Evert famously lost her bracelet. For a modern take, Suzanne Kalan’s exquisite 18-karat gold design delivers a championship finish.
