Pleats Please

Launched by Issey Miyake in 1993, PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE is built on a single technical innovation: a process in which garments are cut and sewn two and a half times larger than their final size, then heat-pressed to set the pleats permanently. The result is a lightweight, wrinkle-resistant fabric that moves with the body, packs flat without creasing and returns to its original form. The collection spans dresses, tops, pants and outerwear in a continuous spectrum of color, with the signature pleats defining each silhouette while allowing unrestricted movement.
