As sure as the sun will rise, there will be a Jane Austen-adjacent adaptation on our screens at any given time – and this new four-parter is particularly timely, as this year is the 250th anniversary of the celebrated novelist’s birth. Based on Gill Hornby’s best-selling novel, the series stars Patsy Ferran – fresh from her critically acclaimed performance in London’s West End as Blanche DuBois opposite Paul Mescal in A Streetcar Named Desire – alongside small-screen veterans Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty) and Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones).
