Chiara Mestre, creative director

“My style is quite timeless and laid-back. I’m not really into trends and like to buy investment pieces; some I’ve had in my wardrobe for years and go back to repeatedly. It helps that I mostly wear monochrome, so everything goes together – but I have a few colorful accents in there that I’ll pull out from time to time, much to the shock of my family and friends!”

I tend to opt for natural fabrics, such as cotton and linen, as they are essential for staying cool on the morning commute

What pieces do you always have on rotation throughout summer?

“An oversized shirt with boxer shorts is my go-to in warmer weather – I have a linen set by Deiji Studios that I wear weekly, as it’s so light and easy to style. I also love the versatility of black summer dresses and have them in all shapes and fabrics. This summer, I’ll pair mine with chunky sandals and delicate gold jewelry.”

How do you navigate dressing for the office in the heat? “I tend to opt for natural fabrics, such as cotton and linen, as they are essential for staying cool on the morning commute – but I always make sure to bring a lightweight layer, in case I get chilly in the office.”

Which accessories are on your wish list this season?

“I’m looking to invest in a new bag for work and have my eye on Bottega Veneta’s ‘Andiamo’ tote. The ‘East/West’ version is perfect for the office (and dinner afterwards), and I love how the knotted gold hardware adds an elegant touch. Loewe + Paula’s Ibiza’s ‘Puzzle Fold’ is another strong contender; the collapsible design means I can pack it for my next vacation, too.”

Annie wears: shirt, and pants, both Toteme; tank top; Agolde; bag, Bottega Veneta; watch, Cartier; sandals, A.Emery; sunglasses, Bottega Veneta; gold bracelets, both David Yurman; silver bracelet, Suzanne Kalan; long pendant necklace, Foundrae; middle pendant necklace, Yvonne Léon; short necklace, Kimaï; rings (right hand), Spinelli Kilcollin (ring finger); Melissa Kaye (index finger); rings (left hand), Suzanne Kalan (index finger); Kimaï (middle finger)

Annie Hertikova, editorial stylist

“My summer style tends to be a mix of light tailoring in neutral tones, with pops of color by way of accessories or a summery top. I like to experiment more with jewelry, too, by mixing my usual gold pieces with colorful beaded bracelets and anklets that instantly make me think of vacations. To the office, I usually wear relaxed-fit jeans or tailored shorts with an oversized shirt and some statement sandals. I also love a beautifully cut blazer – it smartens up my look without even trying.”

I practically live in silk pants during the summer months… They will always make you look ‘put-together’ with minimal effort

Pants, Toteme; sandals, Tod’s

What’s the one item in your summer wardrobe that makes you feel most confident?

“I practically live in silk pants during the summer months. Whether you dress them up with a cute top and a kitten heel or keep things casual with a simple tank top and chunky slides, you will always look ‘put-together’ with minimal effort.

How do you navigate dressing for the office in the heat?

“I tend to wear fabrics that keep you cool and have a looser fit, such as cotton T-shirts and tanks, silk slip skirts and linen-blend blazers. I always bring something to cover my arms, in case it gets cold, such as an oversized men’s shirt or a lightweight jacket. Smart sandals, like Tod’s suede slides, are also a great investment, as they elevate simple outfits effortlessly.”

Which is your favorite look from the shoot?

“My favorite look is the Toteme monogrammed silk co-ord – not only do I love silk pants, but the color is amazing – and so luxurious. The whole outfit feels effortless and would work well on vacation as well as in the city. I also love the jewelry, especially the wrist stack – you can never have enough diamonds!”

Summer Benjamin-Maclean, buyers admin assistant

“My personal style is pretty versatile; I stick to silhouettes that work for my height and shape, but accessorize with bright sneakers or shoes – and lots of metallic accents. I love jewelry and mixing metals through belts, bags and other cool pieces. A denim mini skirt with a lightweight blouse, or a good summer dress, are my go-to pieces for staying cool.”

My favorite look from the shoot is the navy linen Blazé Milano short suit – it’s beautifully cut and such a youthful, modern take on workwear

What’s the one item in your summer wardrobe that makes you feel most confident?

“I’m more than slightly obsessed with sneakers! I love a fun, bright sneaker in summer to elevate a work outfit and add a bit of interest. I’m currently lusting after a pair of green suede sneakers by Dries Van Noten, but also have a few bold and colorful Nike Air Max 1s in my wish list. Comfort is key, as I spend as much time as possible outside soaking up the sun.”

What pieces do you always have on rotation throughout summer?

“I love androgynous, versatile pieces, especially a good-quality linen shirt. It’s the best way to stay cool during the sweltering city heat! You can wear it to the office and even take it to the beach as a bikini cover-up. It’s perfect for layering on brisk summer nights, too.”

Which is your favorite look from the shoot and why?

“My favorite look from the shoot is the navy linen Blazé Milano short suit – it’s beautifully cut and such a youthful, modern take on workwear. Plus, it’s ultra-comfortable and very versatile, as each piece can easily be worn separately with other outfits.”
