“My look is pretty classic; I feel most at home in a T-shirt and jeans. Of course, my style changes with the season – it becomes a lot more feminine during the summer months – but I tend to stick to quite a muted palette of mostly monochrome and beige. In terms of designers, I buy a lot of Saint Laurent and I also love The Row, Georgia Alice, Loewe and Jacquemus. I’m not driven by trends, I gravitate towards classic pieces that I’ll wear – and love – for years. I have a real soft spot for sunglasses – I must have about 60 pairs. They’re great for putting a fresh spin on a simple outfit. Also, every season, I invest in a great pair of boots that I wear pretty much every day. I haven’t purchased my FW19 pair just yet but, honestly, there are so many strong choices in the mix that I might have to buy more than one pair.”

Be yourself

“When it comes to beauty, my day-to-day look is pretty low-key. I love experimenting with makeup but I think it should be about accentuating what you have, not creating a mask. My beauty-bag must-haves are Tom Ford cream contour, Glossier boy brow, Charlotte Tilbury coral blush – I use it on my eyes and lips, too – and Marc Jacobs’ illuminator, which is amazing. After years of modeling, I’ve really gotten to know my face shape and picked up a few beauty tricks along the way. I’ve become a pro at using contour and blush, to really draw attention to cheekbones, and using liner to make my eyes look bigger and more feline. This job can be hard on your hair – a few seasons ago, half of mine was basically snapping off. That’s why I decided to go for a super-short cut. I started modeling at such a young age, I never really had an opportunity to experiment with my look, so it was a really exciting change.”

Dress up

“Honestly, walking the red carpet can be pretty stressful if you’re not feeling your best. But for the most part, it’s a really amazing part of the job. Getting the chance to wear couture gowns that I’d never be able to afford is incredible – it makes you feel like Cinderella. I used to be really apprehensive about getting all dressed up for nights out. I didn’t want to look too full-on or like I’d tried too hard, but I just ended up with a closet full of amazing dresses and heels that I never wore. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve starting to embrace party dressing. I love getting ready with friends and swapping outfits.”

Redefine ‘wellness’

“I love being outdoors, I find it so meditative. When I’m in Los Angeles, my favorite thing to do is go hiking. I’m also really into Pilates right now. I’ve hurt my back a few times over the past couple of years and it’s really eased the pain and helped me regain my strength. When you’re trying to find the right workout for you, I think the most important thing is making sure it’s something you enjoy. That way, it’s so much easier to stay motivated. Exercise is just as important for your mental health as it is for your physical health. It gives you an hour or so when you can refresh your mind, push yourself and prove to yourself that you can overcome difficult things and come out stronger. Exercise is my wellness, along with FaceTiming my family and hanging out with my friends – those are the things that make me happy.”

Pack smart

“I travel constantly and always try to limit myself to a carry-on, no matter where I am going, so I’m always looking for easy pieces I can mix and match. I keep these looks fresh with different accessories and costume jewelry, neither of which take up too much room in your case. My travel tips are pretty simple: always wear your heaviest shoes and biggest handbag onto the plane, and I always bring a big scarf so I can get cosy. Drinking as much water as possible before and during a flight is so important for staying hydrated, and I also love a ginger shot after a long-haul flight; it just makes you feel healthier right away. My style is pretty consistent, but I do draw inspiration from wherever I am in the world – I’ll definitely dress a little differently in Paris than I would in LA or New York.”
