This week, the PORTER fashion team has been thinking about workwear; or, more precisely, how to give our office looks a much-needed overhaul. Enter New York-based label Proenza Schouler’s covetable, and decidedly modern, take on tailoring. Complete with tapered pants and distinctive draped details, this beige suit has jumped straight to the top of our wish list. A lust-worthy addition to any corporate closet, the relaxed fit also ensures it works just as hard after hours. Simply swap a crisp white shirt for a silk camisole and slip on cult-status label Khaite’s tiger-print pumps for an effortlessly elegant evening look. When it comes to accessories, keep it suitably understated: Foundrae’s chunky chain bracelet and Meadowlark’s perfectly imperfect pearl earrings will add polish to any outfit.

Also on our agenda, weddings – and lots of them. The key to nailing occasionwear is to look for pieces that are chic, obviously, but also those that are comfortable and, crucially, can be worn again and again. That’s why we love Preen By Thornton Bregazzi’s floral midi dress. With its balloon sleeves and gently cinched waist, it’s a truly show-stopping piece; even better, the muted palette and universally flattering cut are timeless, meaning you’ll be wearing this beautiful dress for years to come. On the subject of investment pieces, nothing surpasses a classic watch, such as the Reverso by Jaeger LeCoultre (the Swiss timepiece brand worn by Queen Elizabeth II during her coronation). This beautiful timepiece is nothing less than a future heirloom. Now that’s what we call good ROI…
