A curated roundup of trending arrivals, hand-picked by our editors
Temperatures in London have dropped so dramatically over the past few days that it’s been snowing. With a similar forecast expected in other parts of the Northern Hemisphere this weekend, it’s officially time to bring out the big coats. That’s good news if, like us here at NET-A-PORTER HQ, you’ve been waiting all year to finally embrace one of this season’s key trends: shearling.
“Faux-fur coats and accessories are must-haves this season, with the likes of Khaite, Chloé and Altuzarra showcasing fuzzy statement pieces on the fall/winter ’25 runways,” says NET-A-PORTER’s junior shopping editor Millie Parry. And it’s safe to say the street-style set are obsessed. Why? Because it really is all you need to make an off-duty outfit feel chic. Just ask stylist Olivia Wayman, who transformed a white tee and tailored pants simply by layering a dramatic, maxi-length teddy-bear coat over the top; or model Jenny Tsang, who coordinated her shearling with tonal separates.
Nour Hammour’s exquisite ‘Birthday’ coat from our NET SUSTAIN edit is a smart investment piece. Fully reversible, it’s essentially two coats in one, featuring a beautifully plush side and a velvety-smooth finish on the reverse. This means double the styling options: complement the rich treacle shade with a chocolate-brown turtleneck and classic blue jeans by Agolde, or add dimension to tonal tailoring for the office. And don’t stop there – why not maximize the effect with Gucci’s ‘Softbit’ tote in satisfyingly soft, curly shearling?

There are more subtle ways to embrace the trend, too, of course. Just take Aimé Leon Dore’s aviator jacket, which has a contrasting woolly collar to match the plush lining, or Brunello Cucinelli’s fluffy burgundy loafers. We love how chic they look paired with relaxed tailoring, but you could just as easily wear them at home, wrapped up in a cashmere co-ord and Loewe’s checked blanket from our NET SUSTAIN edit.
