Aztech Mountain’s Chic Skiwear Redefines On- and Off-Piste Style
Crafted for skiers who demand high-quality performance and cutting-edge style, Aztech Mountain’s new collection – in collaboration with artist Ed Curtis – is punctuated with vibrant swirling prints
Founded in the snow-capped mountains of Aspen, Aztech Mountain’s skiwear is made for hitting the slopes and bundling up in the city once you’re back home. The brand’s new collection – designed along with Casey Cadwallader, who is also the creative director at Mugler – is in collaboration with London-based artist Ed Curtis, whose creations walk the line between fashion and painting. Hyper-technical fabrics are cut in elegant silhouettes, with exclusive pieces featuring Curtis’s bold ‘Off-Piste’ pattern of psychedelic swirling prints.
“I love all of the items from the Ed Curtis collab because they add so much energy and fun to the collection,” Cadwallader tells PORTER. “We have worked to create fresh proportions that are cropped or oversized throughout the outerwear collection. We have also studied texture throughout our knitwear to redefine the way a woman’s ski kit comes together. As we continue to grow and evolve, Aztech Mountain is going to step deeper into new functional but exaggerated proportions, and new materiality that will ultimately improve the skier’s experience both on and off the slopes.”

Key pieces from the collection include the ‘Snowbird’ hooded gilet that’s made from water-repellent nylon shell and filled with ultra-warm, 100-percent duck down, with drawstrings along the hood and hem for locking in heat. Style yours with the matching sweatshirt and the ‘Team Aztech’ ski pants that are lined with PrimaLoft Gold – the highest-performing synthetic insulation available, which is similar in warmth to goose down. For a maximalist take, look to pieces printed with Ed Curtis’s vivid tonal swirls – like the ‘Off-Piste’ hoodie and matching ski pants – and team with black accessories. Meanwhile, the brand’s ‘Hayden 3L’ ski set is ideal if you prefer a low-key look. The tonal gray palette is inspired by the rocky terrain of Hayden Peak, one of founders David Roth and Heifara Rutgers’ favorite spots in Aspen.
